My favourite placenext poem  poem listing

My favourite place is one of glory
Where grass is greener on that other side
Where I will know the truthful story
And I forever will abide

There is no suffering and no pain
There is no longer fear
From worry I will too refrain
It is a place so dear

With longing I look for that place
There lives my favourite friend
Soon I will see him face to face
And life will never end.

(The original poem had five verses, but was lost. This is a reconstruction of three that I roughly remember.)

Just a little while
I thought about your smile
It changed my life,
removed my strife
Come, live with me a while.

New Beginningprevious poem  next poem  poem listing  back to top

Hello, good morning
The weather's been storming
and battering through the night
But now it's clear and bright
It is a new beginning
And with God's grace, I'm winning.

Final discoveryprevious poem  next poem  poem listing  back to top

When God turns the key of life
the waiting was all worth it,
and pain, and helpless strife

Then meaning is revealed
and stories are rewritten
and truth forever sealed

For things will work out in the end
if you to him belong
and you are his forever friend
then weakness made you strong.

Look againprevious poem  next poem  poem listing  back to top

It's brown and guey, sticky, greasy, yuk
Looking at it almost makes me chuck
This couldn't be my day of luck.

Oh, how could I be so dumb
It is brown and guey, sticky, greasy, yum
It's melted chocolate muck!

Ticketprevious poem  next poem  poem listing  back to top

Ticket! Ticket!
Conductor Clicket
Frowns over his glasses
Wherever he passes

He looks for boy Tricket
Who has no ticket
And travels for free thus
Whenever he pleasus

But one day his wicket
Gets stumped, it's not cricket
He'll need a good lawyer
That freeload boy-er

Then entered Forgivet
Who payed for boy Tricket
And set him scot free
'Cause He died on that tree.

Really listeningprevious poem  next poem  poem listing  back to top

Single colors, pretty as they are
Scattered across the dark blue sky
By themselves, however hard they try
Remain a lonely star

Despite their power
Kings and queens, world wide
Without one by their side
Remain a puny flower

So it isn't all that strange
That like a perfect rose
Become the least of those
Who let another change

How they themselves perceive
Through two more eyes
Becoming wise
And love and truth receive

Together we are strong
So much we can now see
Of what we'll really be
For you and I belong

Bombprevious poem  next poem  poem listing  back to top

A bomb went off
Scorching life
Destroying peace
And bringing strife

The people died
The earth was black
True life was lost
With no way back

The garden closed
With flaming sword
The blast of sin
The sting outpoured

All hope was gone
Our rights were sold
One foolish deed
The world made cold . . .

A Saviour came
For all he died
Restoring peace
Destroying pride

All prisoners freed
A mighty quake
The earth it split
The dead awake

Bright light shines forth
The people live
With joy restored
And praise to give!

Bubbleprevious poem  next poem  poem listing  back to top

When journey has been long
and steep and full of trouble
I pause a while to change my song
and enter into Bubble

When sun is shining bright
and God is blessing double
I can neither help but to decide
to enter into Bubble

So whe'er my path is smooth
or rough and filled with stubble
No plight will change the truth
there is this place called Bubble

It's full of colours shining clear
and joy that thrills the air
It's safe and peaceful, without fear
there's fullness everywhere

Sometimes it's just a cup of tea
or a flower in the rubble
or four eyes meeting, you and me
and pop there is the Bubble

The ropeprevious poem  next poem  poem listing  back to top

He was a captive in a tower
So desp'rate to be free
He tried all that was within his pow'r
And then there was she
"Hold on to the rope!
You are my only hope"

Some saw a long forbidden tree
Some did not see at all
Some said "This should not be"
But she helped him not to fall
"Hold on to the rope!
You are my only hope"

'T was like a daring circus act
on a tight rope full of fear
He'd fall down if the rope was slacked
She must not disappear
"Hold on to the rope!
You are my only hope"

So carefully he trod
Where love and pureness meet
And focused on this holy spot,
She taught to set his feet
"Hold on to the rope!
You are my only hope"

This way became the captive free
Victorious in the end
Such luck the prisoner was me
And she my faithful friend
Held on to the rope
Became my always hope.

Josephprevious poem  next poem  poem listing  back to top

They stuck me down a well
And thought my life was done
For silver did they sell
For twenty thought they'd won

Through deserts did they pull
Distorting every joint
My suffering was full
My dreams they had no point

Then in the house of Potiphar
Betray-ed with a kiss
My reputation did she mar
I, sent to the abyss

But then I saw another dream
A man went through the same
So innocent, yet guilty did he seem
Because he took our shame

They made him on a cross to dwell
And thought his life was done
For silver did they sell
For thirty thought they'd won

Through deserts did he pull
His suffering was full
Betray-ed with a kiss
And sent to the abyss

'T was then I understood
All that to me was done
--God meant it all for good
Was just how Christ had won

I too was raised again
My shackles were unbound
Together with the Son of Man
Victoriously crowned

And through God's faithfulness in me
I rescued a whole nation
Like through God's faithfulness in He
His people found salvation.

Happy Birthdayprevious poem  next poem  poem listing  back to top

The richest treasure I possess
sure is a friend like you.
I am not lying, it's not a guess
it just is really true!

So happy birthday special friend
this you deserve so much.
My wish for joy and bliss I send
and for God's gracious touch.

My Godprevious poem  next poem  poem listing  back to top

My God you're the greatest, you're the best
You stand out far above the rest
No-one else or nothing can compare
Even when one searches everywhere.

My heart, it thirsts for you by night
When your Spirit in me burns so bright
My soul, it longs for you by day
When I work, or rest, or eat, or pray.

My God I've seen your wonder working power
In the great expanse and in the little flower
I have seen you heal the sick, no cost
I have seen you save the lost.

My eyes desire to meet your face
So I may one day understand your grace
My ears will hear the gentle sound
Of your voice, and glory in my heart abound.

My God I want to praise you all my days
And follow you in all my ways
I want to love you much, with all my might
And find in you my full delight.

Just a cloneprevious poem  next poem  poem listing  back to top

Hi, I'm an awesome blastocyst
So small, I easily could be missed
But let me be for a little while
And I'll produce a real cute smile.

But what's this message I now hear?
This impacts me with such great fear!
They say that I was brought about
By men in labs who have great clout

They used a process that's called cloning
But little do they hear my groaning
When with genetic defect I'm infected,
Or with some sickness they've selected.

"It's for the good of all mankind"
I say they truly must be blind
I say what good is this to me
Who also mankind wants to be.

Soon when my usefulness is done
When they're at the end of all their fun
They flush me down some unknown drain
And think that's the end of all my pain

But I'll remember in my little soul
My life they took, it was the toll
For curiosity grown out of bounds
Not science, though so good it sounds

Wonder by what name I would have gone
And with what talents I could have shone
I could have been you, a famous politician
So what will be your clone decision?

A Moment of Friendshipprevious poem  next poem  poem listing  back to top

A bit of humanity
  in a cold impersonal land
A bit of comfort
  through your gently touching hand
A bit of sunshine
in the darkness of no choice
A bit of connection
through the closeness of your voice
A bit of hope
  in the lostness of despair
A bit of joy
through the likeness that we share
A bit of meaning
  in trav'ling through desert sand
A bit of freedom
  through your words that understand
A bit of love
  in an angry hostile place
A bit of warmth
  through your caring, accepting face
A bit of life
  where death did almost sever
A lot of treasure
in my heart, that lasts forever.

Handing overprevious poem  next poem  poem listing  back to top

If I were to know the hour of my departing
I'd desire to spend it just with you
Not with those who say they know me
nor even they who are my kin
But with you it'd be the greatest privilege
to side by side in that holy moment be
Until my hand by the Mighty summoned...
hand in hand in bliss to rest with you.

Happy Autumn day today!previous poem  next poem  poem listing  back to top

It's a good day to fall in love with God afresh. That'll put some spring into your step when the sun is shining, and will help you winter through the storms of life when the going is rough. Anyway, to summerize it all, you can't go wrong with God any time of the year!

Little leftprevious poem  next poem  poem listing  back to top

There would not be a sun or sky,
nor waters or earth below.
If you did not dwell inside my heart,
my thoughts, and everything I know.

There would not be much left of me
If you took the part that loves you so,
Nor would there be much seen of you
If what I love of you were not to show.

The bear is on the looseprevious poem  next poem  poem listing  back to top

The bear is on the loose, the bear is on the loose!
'We need more strength, we need more peace'
The bear is on the loose, go fight him if you choose.

The bear is fierce, the bear is fierce
'We need more strength, we need more peace'
The bear is fierce, his bite will pierce

The mothers cry, the mothers cry
'We need more strength, we need more peace'
The mothers cry, their children die, but why?

Our courage frozen, our courage frozen
'We need more strength, we need more peace'
With courage frozen, where are the chosen?

Go fight him if you choose, go fight him if you choose
We have the strength, we have the peace
The bear is on the loose, go fight him if you choose.

Truly humanprevious poem  next poem  poem listing  back to top

Like a beautiful canvas
Crushed, crumpled, shredded
Fallen off the back of a garbage truck
Found by one who was a little boy
Who was born in a bed of straw

Treasured, piece by piece
Meticulously put back together
Restored by the master painter
Who'd himself
Been crushed, crumpled, shredded
And thrown onto the garbage dump

Like a beautiful canvas
Being restored through faith
Into full humanity
This gorgeous painting in perfect image
Of the little boy.

Beautiful Flowerprevious poem  next poem  poem listing  back to top

I see a flower so beautiful
And have a spot in my garden
Where I will take you, and plant you
Where the sun shines
We will grow in its warmth and love
And find peace and goodness in its fullness
At the table of the gardener.

Of Beautiful Coloursprevious poem  next poem  poem listing  back to top

This has been in my heart since I was conceived
A life that grew and one day hatched
Who was a bird of beautiful colours
Who like the Spirit of God,
Seeking for a place to make its own
Like Noah's dove after the flood.

Someone to welcome her
Somewhere to stay, a place of rest
Finally, a place of
Another one of beautiful colours.

This love was in my heart since I was conceived.

Three legged raceprevious poem  next poem  poem listing  back to top

In the tree legged race
We were doing well
Were having fun
In the run
But then you stopped
Froze on the spot
That's when I fell
And broke

My heart.
